Ethiopian Adventure
This Ethiopian Safari takes you through some of Ethiopia’s most iconic destinations. Begin in Addis Ababa, where you’ll explore the National Museum, Holy Trinity Cathedral, and the bustling Mercato market. Next, fly to Bahir Dar to see the Blue Nile Falls and enjoy a boat ride on Lake Tana, visiting ancient island monasteries. Continue to Gondar, known for its royal castles and historic sites like Fasilides’ Bath and Debre Berhan Selassie Church. Hike through the Simien Mountains National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, spotting wildlife like Gelada baboons and Walia ibex. Then, travel to Lalibela to witness the remarkable rock-hewn churches, including the Church of St. George, before exploring additional churches and hiking to Asheton Maryam Monastery. Finally, return to Addis Ababa for some last-minute sightseeing or shopping before your departure.
DAY 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa
Upon arrival in Addis Ababa, you’ll be warmly welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, enjoy a city tour of Ethiopia’s bustling capital. Visit the National Museum, home to the famous fossilized remains of “Lucy,” one of the oldest human ancestors. DAY 2: Addis Ababa – Bahir Dar
After breakfast, take a domestic flight to Bahir Dar, a city located on the southern shores of Lake Tana. Upon arrival, you’ll visit the beautiful Blue Nile Falls, one of Ethiopia’s most iconic natural landmarks. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat ride on Lake Tana, where you’ll visit the ancient island monasteries, including Ura Kidane Mihret and Azwa Mariam, which house centuries-old religious artifacts and stunning murals.

DAY 3: Bahir Dar – Gondar
Depart for Gondar, the historic capital of Ethiopia, often referred to as the “Camelot of Africa” due to its majestic castles. Upon arrival, explore the Royal Enclosure, a UNESCO World Heritage Site filled with 17th-century castles and churches. Visit Fasilides’ Bath, a ceremonial site still used today for the annual Timkat festival, and Debre Berhan Selassie Church, known for its iconic ceiling of painted angels.

DAY 4: Gondar – Simien Mountains National Park
After breakfast, journey to the stunning Simien Mountains, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its dramatic landscapes and unique wildlife. Enjoy a guided hike through the national park, where you’ll have the chance to spot the rare Gelada baboons, Walia ibex, and various bird species. Take in the breathtaking views from the mountain peaks and enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the beautiful surroundings
DAY 5: Simien Mountains – Lalibela
Today, you’ll travel to Lalibela, a town renowned for its incredible rock-hewn churches, considered one of the world’s greatest architectural achievements. Upon arrival, visit the first group of churches, including the famous Church of St. George, carved entirely from a single rock. These UNESCO World Heritage sites are not only marvels of engineering but also active places of worship, giving you a unique spiritual experience.

DAY 6: Lalibela – Explore the Second Group of Churches
Spend the day exploring the second group of Lalibela’s rock-hewn churches, each with its own unique design and history. You’ll have time to visit the Church of Bet Amanuel, Bet Medhane Alem (the largest rock church), and other important religious sites. In the afternoon, hike up to the Asheton Maryam Monastery for panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.

DAY 7 Lalibela – Addis Ababa – Departure
After breakfast, take a domestic flight back to Addis Ababa. Upon arrival, enjoy some last-minute shopping or explore the city at your leisure. In the evening, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your international departure, marking the end of your unforgettable Ethiopian safari.
